Father, Dad, Pops, Papa, Padre whatever you call him, our fathers are special. In our society, a father is a special thing. It is a blessing to be able to grow up with a physically and emotionally present father figure. A good dad holds up his responsibility even when he doesn’t feel like it, even when it’s tough. On Father’s Day, these amazing men deserve to be acknowledged, but more importantly, they need our prayers. How can we pray for our fathers this Fathers’ Day?
Pray for His Protection & Health
As he is going out into the world each day to help provide for his family, pray that God’s power of protection will follow him wherever he may go. Pray for protection while traveling, while interacting with others and while working. Pray that he stays healthy.
Pray for His Focus
There are so many distractions in our world today. Pray that he keeps his mind focused on his goals, his commitments, and his ultimate rewards.
Pray for His Perseverance
Dad may seem like the rock that just always keeps on keeping on, but even dads get discouraged and want to quit sometimes. Dad may have always been the encourager, but he may need a bit of encouragement too.
Pray for His Prosperity
Pray that God would prosper dad’s efforts. If your dad has experienced difficulties, pray that the blessings of God would flow back into his life. Pray that God would continue to give him wisdom to use his prosperity wisely. Pray that God would bless the work of his hands.
Pray for His Personal Life
As kids (both young and older), you really see only one side of your dad, the dad side. Even though you may not know of any private, personal issues your dad is dealing with right now, odds are he is dealing with a few. You don’t need to know all the details to lift him up in prayer. God knows the details, and God is the one with the solution.
This Father’s Day, lift this special man in prayer. At Prayer is Good, we have two special ways to help you pray for your dad. You can join our online prayer community and submit prayer requests, including requests for your father. You can also purchase a coloring postcard book. Simply tear out one of the postcards, color, pray, and mail it to your dad to give him that extra boost of encouragement.1 Praying
